About Me
Fred Blair M.S. L.Ac has 20+ years of experience in treating a wide variety of conditions. He holds a MS in Acupuncture from TSCA, where he also studied Chinese herbology. He also holds a B.A. from Columbia College.
Fred has been board-certified as a Diplomate of Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is a member of the American Acupuncture Council.
A long-time alternative medicine activist, he is on the Scientific Advisory Board of FIAR (Foundation for Integrative AIDS Research). He is also a recipient of a capacity development grant from NCCAM, the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (a division of the National Institutes of Health) awarded to develop the ability of clinicians in a non-pharmaceutical medical system to research their methods of treating disease.
Fred’s post-graduate study includes classical acupuncture in the style of Jeffrey Yuen, Master Tang, advanced pulse diagnosis (Leon Hammer School and Martha Lucas), scalp acupuncture, and Japanese Meridian acupuncture.
He specializes in chronic and difficult-to-treat diseases, the interface between Chinese and Western Medicine, and the integration of the two systems to achieve optimal results. Fred is co-founder of 1Tribe Herbs, which focuses on chronic disease and diseases which are inadequately addressed by Western Medicine.
